What is Flualprazolam?

Flualprazolamis a new synthetic research chemical that belongs to the chemical class of drugs called benzodiazepines.  The effects of this drug are similar to other benzodiazepines such as Alprasolam, or Xanax.  When administered, benzodiazepineshave been known to cause amnesia, anxiety suppression, muscle relation, disinhibition, hypnotic and anticonvulsant.  Flualprazolamis currently unscheduled and currently being researched for its effects in comparison to others in its class.  Since all information on this drug is relatively new, all information on this drug should not be entirely trusted until a consensus among medical professionals is reached.

This substance is a member of benzodiazepine class due to the fact that it has a 1, 4 diazepine ring joined to a substituted benzene ring. The Chlorine (Cl) group is attached right at the R7 position of this bicyclic structure. However, at R5 location of this structure, a fluorine-substituted phenyl ring is attached. This drug, Flualprazolam is fluorinated alprazolam, an attribute that gives it a slightly longer half-life and also makes it more potent compared to its parent compound. It’s highly recommended to avoid mixing any benzodiazepine with any other depressant substances like thienodiazepines, opiates, alcohol, barbiturates, and other GABAergic substances, most importantly heavy doses as this may lead to death.

Flualprazolam has strong potential for abuse and is highly addictive. In addition, the tolerance develops within a few days of consistent usage. Research has it that discontinuation of benzodiazepines can be very dangerous causes life-threatening effects in users who use this drug for a long time and quit abruptly or cold turkey. Gradual reduction of does is advised as sudden stoppage may cause unavoidable withdrawal symptoms such as seizure.  Always consult a physician regarding anything about this drug.  It can be a very dangerous substance which is why it is only sold for research purposes only and never for human consumption.

Flualprazolam Bioactivity
This substance exerts disinhibiting, sedative, muscle relaxing effects, hypnotic, anxiolytic, and memory suppressing effects when administered. Flualprazolam will likely exert its action through GABA receptors as it’s a benzodiazepine although the mechanism of its action is yet to be established. It displays some effects when bound to the receptor site of benzodiazepine, and it potentiates the effects of the neurotransmitter gamma amino butyric acid (GABA).

Expected Physical effects of flualprazolam

Flualprazolam expected physical effects include muscle relaxation, respiratory depression, sedation, temporary erectile dysfunction, physical euphoria, dizziness, loss of motor control, seizure suppression and an increase in libido. On administration, the paradoxical reactions will likely occur in people with mental disorders, recreational users, patients, and children on high-dose regimens such as aggression, increased seizure, violent behavior, suicidal behaviours, loss of impulse control, increased anxiety and irritability; however, the incidence rate is not more than 1 percent.

The cognitive effects exerted by flualprazolam include disinhibition, memory suppression, emotional depression, sleepiness, anxiety suppression, ego inflation, emotional suppression, compulsive redosing, thought deceleration, delusions of sobriety, etc.
